The region where we will be climbing and skiing on this unique expedition. Beginner to advanced mountaineers are welcome. If you are joining us as a skier you must have a minimum of one season of ski touring experience.
The Dalai Lama calls Mustang the most preserved portion of Tibetan culture. Home to the kind and warm Lopa culture, it is a fascinating region of sky caves, remote glaciated 6000 meter peaks, and charismatic megafauna including truly wild yaks, snow leopards, and Tibetan wolves. We go into the region in the quiet season to explore Lopa culture and then to venture into the remote Tibetan borderlands to climb or ski 6000 meter peaks far from the beaten track. It is likely many of these peaks have not seen an ascent, and certainly never have seen a ski or splitboard descent.
Wild glaciers where we will be climbing and skiing (!).
